Wischnewski in Georgia

After almost 3 months in (very pleasant) Turkey, Georgia gave us a relatively big change: it was interesting to see & feel coming back to a ‚christian based‘ country. Georgia was also very pleasant even if it is almost impossible to compare to Turkey (exception: the great hospitality and the great friendly people). One of the most obvious differences was, that instead of ‚tea‘ (cai) the Georgians offer you ‚Caca‘ (the mostly home made ‚Grappa‘). So alcohol became a much more visible topic… :-0 It was not only one invitation that we got in Georgia where afterwards we had to stagger home. The food – of course – also had different shapes, now again having pork meat on the table (yummy!).

Some more of Turkey: Now we travel the ‚east‘

Hello all!
today we make our last pictures from Turkey available. This is remarkable since last year we visited the region in the east of Turkey that recently was so hardly hit by an earthquake. Too sad that so many people of that region got injured or even killed, so sad!!!

We were very impressed of that part of Turkey that – from our perspective – was the ‚real Turkey‘. The closer we came to the borders to Syria, Irak, Georgia and Iran the greater the mix of people became: Kurdish, Turkish, Georgian, Armenian people did flow together, all proud of their culture and roots, nobody interested in political motivated conflicts, all only interested in their own pleasant life and the life of family & friends. What is communicated as ‚big problems between cultural backgrounds of people‘ in the media does surely exist but no doubt that conflicts are not easy to find, not so widely spread and surely not that vital.

East of Turkey, very enjoyable and again dominated of great hospitality of all people that we met, all instantly ready to give and to share whatever they had…

Griechenland, unsere Speisekarte!

… denn wenn es um’s Essen geht, sagen Bilder mehr als tausend Worte 🙂 Und es war – auch in diesem Land – wieder etwas Ăśbung nötig, um zur richtigen ‚lokalen KĂĽche‘ zu gelangen. Wie gut, dass es in Griechenland neben schmackhaftem Gyros, Souvlaki, Moussaka und all den anderen bekannten griechischen Gerichten auch viel und richtig leckere echte Hausmannskost zu genieĂźen gab, hhhhmmm!!

Lasst Euch das Wasser im Munde zusammenlaufen!

Wischnewski fährt über den Peloponnes

Kalimera zusammen,

so, weiter geht es in Griechenland, unserem Winterquartier 2021/2022. Unsere nächste Station war der ‚Peloponnes‚, die groĂźe sĂĽdliche Halbinsel von Griechenland, wo wir Weihnachten und Neujahr verbringen wollten. Nun ja, bis Anfang Januar 2022 lief alles nach Plan, dann mussten wir leider aber den Peloponnes ungeplant verlassen, da Heike sich das Sprunggelenk gebrochen hatte (das brachte uns fĂĽr 5 Wochen zurĂĽck nach Athen, ..dazu schreiben wir noch einen gesonderten Beitrag).

Trotzdem waren wir gut 3 Woche unterwegs auf dem Peloponnes und das war toll. Anders als auf Chalkidiki war hier trotz Nebensaison noch etwas los, so dass wir vor allem (endlich) regelmäßig griechisch Essen gehen konnten (dazu wird es einen gesonderten Blogartikel geben, mit besten Grüßen an Axel P., den das bestimmt besonders freuen wird :-)) Das Schöne am Peloponnes ist, dass man Berge (Schnee) hat, Strand, tolle Landschaften, kleine Städtchen, ganz kleine Fischerdörfchen usw. das ist schon sehr lauschig! Und es sind auch so manche Caravanisten unterwegs, so dass man immer nette Gesellschaft finden kann. Aber was soll ich scheiben: die Fotos beschreiben es viel besser!
